The Right Experience:
Judge Charter has served for 15 years on the Justice Court bench, helping keep our community safe. He has over 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer, mediator and arbitrator solving complex problems. He is active on Public Safety, Jail, and Traffic Advisory Committees; and in mental health and addiction issues.
The Right Temperament:
Judge Charter treats citizens with courtesy, dignity and respect; earning their trust through fair court processes. He transparently explains court processes and how decisions are made, listening carefully to everyone. He is unbiased and applies the rules applies rules impartially so that everyone gets a fair shake.
The Right Plan For Addressing Community Problems:
Judge Charter has advocated for a Veterans Court, and has worked with vets to clear up their legal issues. He believes that government public safety programs should deliver best results for the lowest possible cost. Problem solving courts save criminal justice costs and health care costs, and reduce victim impacts. “We can make better use of existing state and federal grant money to better address homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues prevalent in our community; it just takes the right leadership.”
